1. About VerifiedTrades
VerifiedTrades is an Australian directory that lists tradespeople who have passed our application checks. We are not a party to any agreement between a homeowner and a tradesperson, and we do not perform trade work ourselves.
2. Verification disclosure
Before a listing goes live we check the applicant's ABN against the Australian Business Register, confirm the format and currency of any state licence or ticket supplied, and review the insurance certificate and certifications uploaded with the application. Checks reflect the information available at the time of review. We do not guarantee the ongoing currency of a licence or policy, the quality of work performed, or any outcome of a job. Homeowners should confirm licence and insurance details directly with the tradesperson before engaging them.
3. Membership and billing
Approved tradespeople pay a recurring listing membership. Nothing is charged at application — billing begins only after an application is approved and a plan is selected. Memberships renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling keeps a listing visible until the end of the paid period, after which it is hidden from the directory. Fees already paid are not refundable except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
4. Listing caps and ranking
Each trade category is capped at 50 approved members per city. Ranking is calculated from review quality and volume, verification recency and membership tier. Featured members receive priority placement, which is labelled as such. Ranking positions are not guaranteed and may change.
5. Reviews and conduct
Reviews must reflect genuine experience of work performed. We may remove reviews, suspend listings or decline applications where we believe information is false, misleading or unlawful.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, VerifiedTrades is not liable for loss arising from work arranged through the directory. Nothing in these terms excludes rights under Australian Consumer Law.
